More than 250 ladies gathered recently for the Grundy County Memorial Hospital Foundation Fall Fling luncheon and style show in Grundy Center. The event raised a record $32,000 to support the Foundation's 2020 Annual Campaign and to purchase an enhancement for the hospital's 3D Mammography technology. Fashions were provided by Funky Zebras of Grundy Center, Opalane of Eldora, and Dillard's of Waterloo. Nine local women served on the committee to organize the fundraiser, which has been held each year since 2009. Front row, from left, Lisa Allison of Eldora, Toni Nederhoff of Steamboat Rock, Shirley Young of Gladbrook, and Kim Heinrich of Wellsburg. "We are grateful to not only our talented committee members and the ladies who attended the event, but to the more than 100 local businesses who supported the show as Table Sponsors and prize donors," remarks Erin Schildroth, Foundation event planner. "Each year this event raises funds that help maintain high quality local health care for our rural communities, and each gift is appreciated." Grundy County Memorial Hospital is a critical access hospital serving Grundy, Hardin, Butler, and Tama counties.
