School board selections set for Sept. 11. Candidates for the three year terms on the board are: Mike Bearden, incombent, Beth Miller, Maria Raney & Matt Wyatt.

Class of '37 celebrated their 70th class reunion with 8 members still living. Those attending were Betty Martins Mewees from Cedar Falls, Arlene Shafstal Bassett, from Hudson, LaVonne Ramsey, Donald Schildroth and Joe Karkosh, from Reinbeck, and Ken Backens from Waterloo. Marlys Mauk Wyatt from Hudson and Ardele Morrison Senning from Grundy Center were unable to attend.

Mr. & Mrs. Don Stephan will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a card shower.

Mr. & Mrs. Maurice Bolt are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary on August 10.

Cassandra Dirks & Nicholas Zummwalt were married on June 16 in Richmond, Ky.

Grundy Co. voters to use new voting machines on Sept. 9.

Chuck Freitag's print "Restoration" will be raffled off by Historical Collections. Proceeds to go to the Pioneer Craft Fund.

Mr. & Mrs. Kirk Dinsdale are parents of a son born August 13.

Mr. & Mrs. Kenneth Wulf are parents of a son born August 26.

Mr. & Mrs. Matt Koch are parents of a son born August 27.

Stacey Svenden & Jodi McVickers were married April 5 in Hampton, Iowa.

Inez Bicket, 94, Reinbeck, died August 30 at the Grundy Hospital.

Leo Knox, 88, Reinbeck, died August 26 at Covenant Medical Center.

Malinda Ehrig, 81, died Sept. 7 at Parkview Manor.

SEPT. 15, 1977

Resurfacing 15.25 miles on Hwy #175 has begun and barring no bad weather the road should be completed by late Nov.

Reinbeck UCC Church celebrates its 100th year anniversary with a number of special events planned for Sept. 24-25.

Merle Lynch elected to RCS school board with an easy win.

Reinbeck Rams football team opened their 1977 season with a victory over a tough Grundy Center squad.

Mr. & Mrs. Burge Larsen will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary on Sept. 25.

Funeral services for John Bystricky, 82, Reinbeck, were held Sept. 13.

Judy Fogt to be installed as Reinbeck Rainbow Assembly #100 Worthy Adviser on Sept. 23.

50 YEARS AGO

SEPT. 14, 1967

Stephan Dodge is having a three day open house event to show the 1968 line of Dodge cars.

The effort of Reinbeck Community Theater was a tremendous success with 685 paid admissions.

Rainbow Assembly #100 of Reinbeck will install Regina Rohach as Worthy Advisor on Sept. 17.

The new lift station extension is being installed just off Pioneer Road near the Co-op Elevator site.

Neva Kruss of Parkersburg & Glen Hockemeyer were married August 19.

Plans have been made to reorganize the Reinbeck Cub Scout Pack #273 with Bob Conrad as Cub Master.
