Tscherter’s no-hitter propels Rebels

REINBECK - Tyler Tscherter struck out eight in a five-inning no-hitter as Gladbrook-Reinbeck beat South Hardin 14-1 in Tuesday's NICL West Division baseball game.

Tscherter and the Rebels (8-6, 4-4) surrendered one unearned run to the Tigers (4-7, 3-6) in the top of the third inning, but G-R already held a 7-1 advantage. Gladbrook-Reinbeck put the win on ice by scoring six runs in the bottom of the sixth.

Kyle Koppen finished 2-for-3 with two doubles, an RBI and two runs scored to lead G-R's bats. Joe Smoldt was 2-for-3 with a double, two runs and three RBIs, and Mason Skovgard was 1-for-1 with two walks, a double, a run scored and two RBIs. Matt Roeding and Alex Tscherter both drove in two runs.
