Public viewing of Paper Tigers, April 4
March 19, 2017

WAVERLY, Iowa- Wartburg College Social Work Department's Slife Institute, Black Hawk Public Health Department's 1st Five Initiative, and Together 4 Families' Community Partnerships for Protecting Children Project are hosting a FREE public viewing of the movie, "Paper Tigers". Paper Tigers is a powerful documentary about one school's answer to toxic childhood stress. Paper Tigers follows a year in the life of an alternative high school that has radically changed its approach to disciplining its students, becoming a promising model for how to break the cycle of poverty, violence and disease that affect families. Paper Tigers is a testament to what the latest developmental science is showing: that just one caring adult can help break the cycle of adversity in a young person's life.
